Times Higher Education (THE) announced its University Ranking for 22 countries labeled as BRICS and Emerging Economies (BRICS & EE). Boğaziçi University is ranked as 7^th this year. The same scores used to determine the 2014 THE rankings, in which Boğaziçi was ranked among the top 150 world universities as 139^th, are used in the BRICS and Emerging Economies Ranking with slightly different weights. Three universities from Turkey made it to the top 10, and five made it into the top 20.

Two Universities from China; Peking University and Tsinghua University appear at the top of the BRICS & EE Ranking. Only METU (3^rd), Boğaziçi University and İTÜ (8^th) appears in the top 10 from Turkey followed by Sabancı University (15^th), Bilkent University (19^th), Koç University (29^th), Istanbul University (51^st), Hacettepe University (82^nd).

27 Universities from China and 19 from Taiwan made it to the top 100 of the BRICS & EE Ranking.

BRICS & EE countries are: Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Czech Republic, Hungary, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, Taiwan, Turkey, Chile, Colombia, Egypt, Indonesia, Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, and UAE.
