Classical Music At Boğaziçi University
Bogazici University organizes weekly Classical Music concerts under the coordination of Evin Ilyasoğlu since the fall of 1996. The Albert Long Hall has perfect acoustical condition with 500 seats and a huge organ with 6000 pipes. There are two concert grand Steinway pianos in the hall that allow duo-piano recitals. Every Wendesday night at 7.30 p.m. the concert hall is full with students, professors, alumnae and the music lovers of Istanbul. The performers are world known artists as well as young talents or Turkish celebrities. Orchestras, chamber groups, dance groups, vocal groups and solo recitals are acclaimed.
So far the concerts hosted world known artists such as Alfred Brendel, Martha Argerich, Paul Badura-Skoda, Midori, Natalia Gutman, Emma Kirkby, Itamar Golan, Daniel Müller-Schott, Alexander Rudin, Guy Ben-Ziony, Alexey Utkin, Alexandr Markof, Tatjana Masurenko, Khatia Buniatishvili; London Baroque, Moscow Soloists, Camerata Salzburg, Hermitage Orchestra, Musica Viva, Allegri, Ysaye and Amati Quartets, Güher-Süher Pekinel, İdil Biret, Ayla Erduran, Ayşegül Sarıca, Fazıl Say, Burak Bilgili, Hüseyin Sermet, Gülsin Onay, Gürer Aykal, Ayhan Baran, Toros Can and Özgür Aydın.
There is a possibilty of buying seasonal tickets as well as individual ones.
