The Humanities is a team-taught survey course in English. The course is designed in a lecture and discussion section format. Both Hum 101 and Hum 102 are 4 credits each, with two mandatory lectures and discussion sections. The bi-weekly morning lectures introduce important topics and themes, raising critical issues to be addressed in discussion sections. Organized chronologically and thematically, the lectures form the general framework for section discussions. Throughout the semester each lecture is given by a different Hum instructor. The program also invites guest lecturers both from abroad and from other universities in Turkey who are experts of the period or text examined.
