The contribution of Boğaziçi University to higher education stems both from its philosophy of education and from the unique content of its courses. The Faculty of Arts and Sciences plays a key role in determining this contribution, both in its own right, and because it provides a large proportion of the curricula requirements of the other Faculties in the first four semesters of study.
The goal of our Faculty is to provide students with a solid background and to stimulate in them a facility for independent research together with a readiness for self-improvement. These qualities, combined with an alertness to think critically at all stages, inevitably render our students potential scholars of excellence.
At the heart of our Faculty's program lies a balanced curriculum which grants our students access to a broad variety of courses and activities at an early stage of their career.
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences offers programs leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Mathematics, Molecular Biology and Genetics, and Physics; and to the degree of Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature, History, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Translation and Interpreting Studies and Turkish Language and Literature.
Double-major programs may be pursued at the bachelor level in many fields within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and with other Faculties.
