The Archives and Documentation Center is established with the aim of gathering, preservation and accessibility for research purposes of archival materials donated to or acquired by Boğaziçi University. The Center houses written and visual archival documents in nine separate archives in such different areas as history, literature, painting, architecture, archaeology and foreign policy. A significant portion of these archives are very important resources to constitute the institutional memory of Robert College and Boğaziçi University from the mid 19th to the late 20th century, and to illuminate the 150 year-long historical period from the late Ottoman Empire to Turkish Republic through historical and sociological perspectives. The cataloguing and digitization of the archives in the Archives and Documentation Center is currently underway. Following the completion of the cataloguing and digitization, the archives are expected to be made available to researchers in early 2016.
