Information Session for Morehad-Cain Foundation "Global Fellows" Scholarship Program

Dear Students,

We would like to announce an information session regarding the scholarship program of Morehead-Cain Foundation for Boğaziçi University students.

Founded in 1945 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Morehead-Cain Foundation is a merit scholarship program that provides various opportunities to contribute to the education of individuals who can lead societies, discover and realize their potential and shape the future.

The foundation will provide grants to a number of undergraduate students from our university to cover accommodation and living expenses while studying as an exchange student for an academic year at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill during the 2025-2026 academic year.

Those interested in the program are invited to attend the Information Session, which will take place on January 13th at 14.00 in South Campus Demir Demirgil Hall (ÖFB).

A Q&A session will follow, where you can direct your questions to the representatives of the foundation. Please fill out this form if you plan to attend the information session. It is important for us to organise the event effectively.

Students in senior status (those in their final year at Boğaziçi University) are not eligible for the program. The general requirements for application are stated below.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION*:

*The requirements listed here are subject to change by the Foundation.

- To be enrolled in an undergraduate program at Boğaziçi University and to have completed at least two semesters

- Not to have received any disciplinary penalty

- A minimum GPA of 2.50/4.00 and be in the top 25% of students in their year.

- The students must meet all the requirements set by the program and the academic unit/institution at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

- The student must remain enrolled at Boğaziçi University for at least one more semester (excluding summer terms) after returning from abroad.

- Students from these departments are specifically encouraged to explore and research this opportunity:

Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Engineering, Economics, Civil Engineering, Earth Science, Environmental Sciences, Guidance and Psychological Counselling, History, Law, Linguistics, Mathematics, Management, Management Information Systems, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Physics, Psychology, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, Western Language and Literatures

- Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from one of their instructors at their home departments.

- Applicants must submit a letter of intent.
