Graduate Program in Educational Technology
The M.A. program in Educational Technology comprises a minimum of 24 credits of course work, a non-credit seminar and a thesis, consisting of 6 required and 3 elective courses. Elective courses may be chosen from among the courses offered by the program or other programs in the university, subject to approval of the advisor. Students with B.S. or B.A. degrees from the faculties of Education, Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Business, and related fields can apply for the program.

CET 501 Education, Instruction, and Technology (2+0+2) 3 ECTS 8
(Eğitim, Öğretim ve Teknoloji)
Relating education, instruction and technology. Discussion of relevant theories, products and practices. Critical analyses of educational implementations of technology, the notions of technological determinism and neutralism, concepts of teaching, learning and understanding. Use of “teaching for understanding” as a test case.
CET 511 Theoretical Foundations of Technology Based Learning Environments (2+0+2) 3 ECTS 7
(Teknoloji Tabanlı Öğretimin Kuramsal Temelleri)
Basic principles and theories of technology based instruction. Fundamental approaches and courseware types, modeling tools, tutorials, simulations and games, drills, interactive learning environments, hypermedia, intelligent systems and general purpose tools. Selection, development, implementation and evaluation of courseware on the basis of learning theories.
